Bangkok, Baby

Bangkok.

Friends.

What more could a girl ask for, really? It's becoming a bit of a tradition for us (all moms now and the circle always growing). Something about a weekend with the gals just feeds you deep in your soul.

These girls. They make my world better. They make me better.

Imagine this - It's Friday afternoon after a loooong week (including a late-night parent presentation for a few of us). We hug the last kids as they head to the bus, then tidy our classrooms before a mad dash to the airport. We are all moms. Four of us have children under the age of two. One of us still breastfeeding (yours truly). We are exhausted. And we haven't even started yet. Can we still do this? A weekend in Thailand?

Heck yes.

Arrival greets us in a souped up van (think black-lights & fabric ceiling). Most of us had napped on the 3-hour plane ride. We are getting a second wind. Let's find that restaurant we heard about and order crab omelettes ... driver take us there!

Of course. The one day.

That's okay! Plenty of options! After a quick scan of the street food, we decide to drop our things off at the hotel first. We put on our game faces and dig deep, determined to make the best of this glorious weekend. But as soon as we spot the comfy beds, it's done. We want sleep. It's room service, late-night conversation in PJ's, and bed. Each one of us eager to have a night of uninterrupted sleep.

The next day brings torrential rain.

And Chatuchak Market.

incredible pork here!

We ate our way through the market: pork, pork-buns, noodles, guava fruit, coconuts, and coconut ice-cream.

Love the glassware here. Wish I had bought a complete set. And..... I might have bought a sink. Yes, a sink. That you have to hook up to plumbing. For a house. No, I don't own a house. But someday I will!

Night time! Drinks, dinner (sooooo good!), and of course - dancing! Props to our driver who hosted the highlight of the evening .... cruising through the city blasting our favorite tunes and letting loose. (For the record, we are terrible at the mannequin challenge!)

Just look at this van!

Bangkok? Yes, amazing city. So much fun. Cheap foot massages (best massage I've had in my life for about $3 USD). Absolutely delicious food and nightlife like no other. But the best part? Time with the girls.

Here's to another one in the books, ladies.
